Homefun Activities

- Baking cookies, cupcakes, cakes, dinner with a parent.

- Using a tape measurer to measure different items at home or outside.

- Play monopoly with the parents.

- Parent and student create a story taking turns writing their sentence. Build onto each other’s sentence to create a short story or play.

- Practice a fire drill and have an escape plan for the family.

- Have a scavenger hunt. Find things that relate to the classroom topic.

- Student writes their own song, finds items to use as instruments and then sings the song and plays the instruments in class.

- Send home a flower or vegetable and have the student and parent plant the flower and continue to measure its progress over the next few weeks.

- Make a paper mache model that relates to the classroom topic.

- Student draws a book report instead of writing a summary about the book.
